Tinikling

It is a dance that mimics the movements of birds. Tikling is a traditional performance of the Philippines that occurred during the Spanish colonization. There are male and female actors. Women wear balintawak or patadyong suits. Men wear barong tagalog shirts, made from pineapple fiber. Performances include bamboo stems The performance is a 5-step leaping dance. During the first 4 rhythms, the dance partners stand opposite each other.
